Vintgar Gorge is a 1600 m long and up to 250 m deep gorge on the eastern edge of the Triglav National Park, 4 km northwest of the center of Bled.
It was formed by the mountain river Radovna, which soon after leaving the gorge as a right tributary it empties into the Sava Dolinka. The headwaters of Radovna are in the Krma and Kot valleys in the Triglav Mountains, and it also collects water from the northern part of Pokljuka and Mežakla. Its valley above Vintgar is 19 km long.
We suggest you plan your visit in the morning or afternoon. Between 10 am and 1 pm, the gorge is the busiest.
The path is circular. There are two different return routes.
Green Trail Vintgar – Sv. Katrarina and Red Trail Vintgar – Blejska Dobrava
