The starting point is at the main entrance to the Vintgar gorge in Podhom. Once you reach the end of the gorge and the Šum Waterfall, turn right and follow the signs to the Church of St Catherine. The hiking trail through the forest is 1.2 km long, with about 80 m of altitude difference. The church has a beautiful view of the surrounding area, making it the altar of the Gorenjska region. There is a small snack bar on the right. You can return to the starting point (direction West) by following the signposts, or you can head southeast towards Zasip or Bled.
